The sun shined long enough on the weekend for a beautiful day trip around the Kent coast, we stopped in Margate, visited the Turner Contemporary, walked the quiet back streets to find the Shell grotto, an amazing underground space patterned with millions of shells, the cool air, dimly lit corridors and glistening walls whispering mystery at every turn. We popped in to some lovely shops then continued on our drive to Broadstairs.

I was so excited to, firstly find a parking space, but to then turn the corner to see this beautiful English seaside scene. Morelli’s ice cream, helter skelter, sand, sea, cute cafes and beautiful coastline homes. All I can say is hooray for mini road trips.

All that and some time at home to carry on with painting, collaging, and finding a new home for the huge bunch of lavender that my lovely friend gave me, I love making the most of all this extra daylight.
